Its a thought I have been interested in for a while. The effect that low-key classical music has on learning and even foetus' etc.
But it raises other questions, such as the enjoyability of the music on the recipient (if I hate classical?), and the fact that their may be a downside: by listening to enjoyable, yet very unbaroque-ish music (Slipknot, for example) are we actually wandering on the wrong side of the intellegence tracks?

Otherwise, I hear ya.

When elementary school music teachers ask how they should teach music, Dr. Rauscher tells them to, above all else, make sure children experience the joy of music.

I imagine that school kids are playing popular music, not steeped in classical. Learning new music patterns--whether classical or classic rock--expands your brain and helps you recognize patterns in business and science.
