I read somewhere (although, I'm unable to recall where) that Wolfgang Mozart had worked for a church where he was expected to write a new musical score every week for the church service.
Some believe it was his religious devotion to composing a song once a week that produced so much great music. Not that every song enchanted his audience; instead, it was the act of writing notes each week that produced great hits. Hits only occur if you swing. And even the best home run hitters strike out more than they sail a ball over the fence at Fenway.
Perhaps you've wondered, as I have, was Mozart surprised by the songs that people connected with and praised him for?
He may have been, for I am often surprised by what resonates with readers of this blog. A couple weeks ago, the University of Colorado at Bolder asked if they could quote a statement from a post. The quote would be used in a brochure for a new academic program -- business courses for engineering students.
As I viewed the brochure, I realized that the students taking this course are a metaphor -- they are a beacon of creativity that cuts through the fog of confusion that blankets many companies.
