Teaming is critical to success if one of these conditions apply:

• When work requires people to juggle multiple objectives with little oversight.
• When people must shift from one situation to another while keeping high levels of communication and coordination.
• When it helps to integrate perspectives from different environments.
• When pre-planned coordination is impossible because of the changing nature of work.
• When complex information must be synthesized and applied rapidly.
